This is a 10GBASE-T copper module. For full 10Gbps transmission up to 30m, Cat6a or Cat7 copper cable is required. Cat6 cable is compatible but only supports up to 10m at 10Gbps. No pairing is needed; this module can be used independently on either end of the link.
